For grades K – 3 each classroom is self-contained. Students in grades 4-8 are instructed by several teachers according to the instructor’s area of expertise. The curriculum was written by the faculty members and is reviewed and updated as needed. The curriculum focuses on religion as an integral part of everyday life, as well as an individual subject, reading, language arts, mathematics , science, social studies, computer (grades 3 – 8), Spanish (grades 4 -8), literature (grades 6 -8), and Algebra 1 (8th grade students who qualify).
Art, music, and physical education are offered once a week for all grades. Library is offered to grades K – 5 once a week. Computer is offered to grades 1-8 once a week. There is also a weekly health class for grades 6 – 8. A remedial reading teacher is available to work with students who are experiencing reading difficulties.
All students attend Mass at least once a month, with each class having the opportunity to develop a theme and select the readings. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered during the seasons of Advent and Lent to those students who have made their 1st Penance. There is an emphasis on prayer, and there are several opportunities for prayer during the schools day. In addition to prayer and liturgical celebrations, community service programs help the students put their faith into action. All of these activities aid in the students development of Catholic values which form the foundation of our mission and philosophy as a Catholic school.
